FROM MODENA TO MASSA | 6 NIGHTS - 7 DAYS
What's Via Vandelli?
The Via Vandelli is an ancient commercial and military road strongly desired by Duke Francesco III d'Este, built in the mid-1700s to connect Modena, the capital of the Este Duchy, with Massa.
Traveling along the Via Vandelli, which takes its name from its creator and builder, the abbot, engineer, geographer, and mathematician Domenico Vandelli, one can go back in time to the Este Duchy era and enjoy breathtaking views along the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and the Apuan Alps.
The journey starts, with a certified environmental guide, from the Ducal Palace of Modena and ends at the Ducal Palace of Massa, crossing the Apuan Alps. The trek lasts 7 days, covering a total of 150km.
